How to Use Anti-Pumping Function of Trailer Concrete Pumps

Writer:Admin   Time:20/01/07

The anti-pumping function is used quite a lot in tackling pipe blockage of concrete pumps. However, it should be used with skill either with a trailer or mixer pump. In ancient China, there was a verse called "The turbulent wind precedes the mountain storm", which means that before something happens, certain signs will definitely appear, and observing these signs helps us to prevent bad things from happening. It is the same case with the plugged pipe of a concrete pump. We can sense dangers by tense observation and solve the problem of pipe plugging by anti-pumping function at the very beginning period.

The most effective method is to check the value of the pumping oil pressure of a trailer concrete pump. Under normal circumstances, the maximum value does not reach the set pressure. If the peak pressure of each pumping stroke rises rapidly with the alternation of the stroke and reaches the set pressure swiftly with automatic cease of the pumping cycle and noise from the overflow valve of the main oil circuit, it indicates that a pipe blockage has occurred. Some commercial concrete pumps are designed with automatic back pumping circuits, which do not solve the problem all the time, when you need to try the manual anti-pumping step.

In the manual anti-pumping part, the blockage of the pipe can usually be eliminated by simply pressing the reverse pump button, which makes each of the two cylinders perform one or two reverse strokes to suck the concrete back to the hopper of the concrete mixer pump. Sometimes, it takes repeated operation of the steps above. Usually 3-4 strokes are enough most of the time, and the blocked pipe can be eliminated. If, however, this still fails to resume normal circulation, it indicates that the pipe has been blocked seriously.

Nevertheless, it’s worth mentioning that the anti-pumping function of either trailer concrete pumps or concrete mixer pumps must be applied with caution. Due to the influence of the self-weight of the commercial concrete when the concrete pump is pumping vertically downward, the general reverse pump cannot pull the commercial concrete back to the hopper in the case of a large drop in the commercial concrete. Repeated reverse pump-forward pump operation is likely to cause mortar loss or blockage of the spinal canal or S tube.
